Aging in place

 Many adults would like to remain in their home as they grow older. However, most existing homes have structural barriers that can make it difficult for older adults and people with physical limitations to address their daily needs without assistance.  

 Plan for your future comfort. Look at your home now. Are doorways wide enough? Are there handrails? Assess your space for safe, long-term living.  Feeling unsure where to begin? That's okay. Start with what matters most. Focus on making your favorite rooms safer, like adding handrails to stairs or making items easier to reach. Then, gradually address lighting and clear pathways.
